Our New House

Here is where we have been staying, in Spring Hill Campground:

Here is our new home!  We are so excited!

Here is the front door from the inside.  To the right is the formal dining room.

Here is the dining room, which is on the left as your walk in the front door:

From the dining room, we go into the kitchen:

The kitchen:

From the kitchen you can take a left.  First is breakfast area, then on the right is the pantry, a 1/2 bath, and our laundry room:

That is the left side of the house, now lets look at the right.  First are the stairs and then the coat closet:

Now we have the family room.  Some of these pictures were taken before they fixed the floor.  The wood floor was damaged and they couldn't replace it, so they put in tile around the french doors.

Here is the doorway after they fixed it:

Okay, that is the first floor, now let's go upstairs:

On the left is a small sitting area, looking down the hallway, to the right and left are guest bedrooms, the dark doorway you see is the guest bathroom, and the light you see at the end of the hallway is the master bedroom.

Here is the sitting area:

Down the hall to the left and right are the guest bedrooms:

Welcome to the

National No Housework Day Online Blog Hop!

If you have arrived not knowing until now about the hop, no problem...just go back to

Groovy Deb's Blog at:

where this hop starts and work your way through.  You may find games, prized, projects and how do-you-dos along the path :).  We would appreciate it if you sign up to keep in touch with us by "following" and would love your comments.  Perhaps you have arrived here from Jeannie - Polka Cabana.  Great!  I hope you enjoyed that stop and the others so far!!!

We celebrate this national holiday by scrapping today and into the weekend with projects that remind us of housework or getting away from it!!!  Take the day off, put up your feet and let's hop!

For my project, I thought about what I would do if I didn't have any housework.  Well, seeing as how it is spring, I think I would just like to spend some time outside, maybe at the botanical garden or the zoo.  So here is my take on No Housework Day and Spring!

Fiskateers - WSO - Challenge #19

Challenge #19 - I have always wanted to try...

...Alcohol Inks.  After watching a Tim Holtz video on YouTube, I decided to give it a try.

Here is my take on this challenge:

I stamped the alcohol ink onto a recycled plastic acetate and waited for it to dry. I tried to stamp the images on top of it, but it didn't work, so I stamped them underneath instead.

  • Fiskars Scissors
  • Paper from The Paper Studio
  • Ribbon from Celebrate It
  • Inkssentials felt and foam applicator
  • Adirondack Earthtones Alcohol Ink
  • Distress Inks from Ranger
  • Stamps from The Stamps of Life - Butterfly2Build and Daisies4You sets

Fiskateers - WSO - Challenge #13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18

Challenge #13 - The Ugly Duckling

I didn't really have any ugly paper.  In my stash, I only have solids and some patterned paper that I like. So, then I remembered that I have a scratch sheet of cardstock that I use with my Inkssential blending tool.

Here is my take on this challenge:

I cut part of my scratch cardstock to use as a mat, then I took it outside and sprayed it with Tattered Angels. Then I punched some holes in a pink piece of cardstock with my new Fiskars Scroll Punch and sprayed it as well. Then I stamped my sentiment and masked it, and also sprayed it with Tattered Angels. It came out very shimmery, but you can't really see it in the photo. I like the result, it is very different for me.

Materials used:
  • Fiskars Trimmer
  • Fiskars Scissors
  • Fiskars Limited Edition Spring Scroll Punch
  • Paper from The Paper Studio
  • Ribbon from Celebrate It
  • Spray from Tattered Angels
  • Stamps from Stampin Up! - Afterthoughts set
Challenges 14 and 15 were online contests, so you won't see a posting for those two.

Challenge 16 - Inky Fingers

Here are my inky fingers!

Challenges #17 & #18 were also online contests!

There are three more challenges to go!  Stop by tomorrow for even more of the WSO!

Challenge #11 was Let's Get Trashy!
In other words, find something that we can recycle and use for a project.  There was a box that I have been wanting to try for awhile.  I haven't created it because I thought it wouldn't be sturdy enough.  Alas, I could use come cardboard and recycle it. You can find the tutorial for this box on ScorPal's website. Here are some pictures of what happened next!

I love this new box and I can store all kinds of little treasures in it!

Materials used:
  • Fiskars Trimmer

  • Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife
  • Recycled Michelob Ultra box
  • ScorPal
  • Paper from ColorBok
  • Stamps from Stampin Up! - Elements of Style set
